Project-Based Learning

What?

Project based learning is the use of classroom projects intended to bring about deep learning, where students use technology and inquiry to engage with issues and questions that are relevant to their lives now and for the future.  All students are prepared for post-secondary education, workplace, and global citizenship.

Who?

Students may create their own projects, a team of students may create a project, and an advisory group may create one together.  Staff mentor students in their personal learning plans design to ensure that learners are creating challenging, rigorous projects which meet or exceed state standards.

How?

The scope of projects is limitless: internships, community service, displays, prototypes, performances, experiments, work site experience, mentoring the younger, interviews, documentaries, art, and any type of writing.

What form will product assessment take?

  • Projects will be made public at a School Summit.

  • There will be multiple presentations at each summit.

  • There will be a panel of assessors.

  • The student body, parents, Governance Council members, Green Bay administrators, experts in the field, anyone interested, and staff will be the audience.
